The building was built in 1895, known as the Dick tenement house. The Israelite Hospital, formerly built on the site of the house, was purchased in 1890 by dentist Dr. Vilmos Dick, who, after demolishing the property, erected a 4-storey tenement house on the site according to the plans of master builder József Gutwillig.
The well-known inhabitants of the building were famous composers, doctors, legal advisers, landowners over the years.
